Those of you who know me, know that I love space games. There’s just something amazing about imagining space travel and all the rigors that go with it. So when Space Pioneers hit Kickstarter at only €13 (approx. $14US) I had to (in the words of Duke Nukem), “Come get some!”

Here’s the official description of the game from the project page:

Space Pioneers is a competitive card game with a unique combination of planning, interacting and solving missions and secret tasks.

You have to establish supply flights within the newly discovered planetary system by planning the best routes.

Interesting, but not very informative. I found a much better overview from this NVS Playthrough video on Youtube:

The cliffnotes version is that Space Pioneers is a card laying game. With your hand you attempt to link a card to an existing card to claim planets, mine resources, and transport your goods. The game is highly strategic with a really cool theme.

Given the low price, I can’t see any reason not to back the game. The creator has the rules and a PnP available to try out. If that’s not good enough for you, there’s a 30 day money-back guarantee! If that’s still not good enough, the project page has a ton of links to reviews for the game.

Space Pioneers ends in a few days. If you’re looking to be a part of this sweet game, head on over to Kickstarter and back it today!
